UH Interns arrive at Washington National Airport

The first day of September marked the arrival of the University of Hawai'i Interns sponsored by the NCRC and the Sogi Fellowship.

Tired but happy after their thirteen and a half hour flight from Honolulu, Ku'ulani Miyashiro, Lily Leung and Jennifer Funtanilla were greeted by Dan Lehman as they arrived at Washington National Airport.

Karen Uemoto warmly welcomed the three UH Interns and drove them to Randolph Towers at Ballston; their home for the three and a half month stay in the Washington, DC area.

Ku'ulani Miyashiro is a Sogi Fellow. She will work with Dr. Franklin Odo at the Smithsonian. Ku'ulani is a Junior at the University of Hawai'i with a major in Ethnic Studies. Her home is Kane'ohe.
