First, I'd like to thank Robert Budway, John Tagami, Bobby Lumho, and Carita Tompkins for their dedicated work and enthusiam to make this year's tournament another success. Further, the assistance of the 3 interns, Dan Kam, Carolyn Tompkins were truly invaluable. Also, Mike Thomas, the Director of Andrews Golf Courses was a prince to work with.
This year's tournament was held on Sept 15 at Andrews AFB, and boy, talk about timing, we beat the heavy rain by 15 minutes. It was lots of fun with great prizes...lots of nice comments about the coconut trophies, etc. Lumho's cornbeef and spam of course were the "winnas". Special thanx to John Tagami for securing the United Airline Tickets. Great buy at $1450 round trip for two.
Although Carita hasn't had the chance to tally the amount of money that we made, my gut feel is that we did quite well. My last count indicated that we had 19 corporate sponsors in addition to team participation and individual players. Hopefully, next year we can increase the corporate sponsors.
What a surprise to see Clyde Nishimura! All of us welcomed him back with open arms. He'll be an active participant in NCRC, as well as with George Fukumoto.
Lastly, I would like to thank everyone who gave of their time and energy to a number of various events during my 3 year reign as President. Please do the same for Tony Moreno. He will provide the type of leadership that we need to get righted in terms of our mission.
Many mahalos to all,
Pat
